Booking terms for Carnaby 1 and Carnaby 2

The Carnaby booking terms in short: a 50 percent deposit and the balance 30 days before sailing. Cancel 60 days or more before and 50 percent is refunded; at 30 to 59 days, 25 percent. If the booked Carnaby cannot sail, we arrange a replacement boat or refund you in full.
The contracting company
The contract is with PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, the booking partner for Carnaby 1 and Carnaby 2. Carnaby 1 and Carnaby 2 belong to their owner, who runs the boats. We sell the trips and are responsible for your booking.
Indonesian law governs the terms, and a dispute goes to the Indonesian courts.
Two payments before the pickup
A 50 percent deposit confirms the booking. The balance is due 30 days before sailing. Both amounts are shown in your written quote, together with the payment methods we accept.

Deposit 50% to confirm, balance 30 days before departure. You can also settle the balance in Labuan Bajo on the departure day, in cash or by card on the EDC machine. Fees: card payment link 3%, PayPal 7.2%, EDC card machine 3%. Your issuing bank may add its own charges.
The cancellation scale and date changes
Cancel 60 days or more before sailing and 50 percent is refunded. Cancel 30 to 59 days before and 25 percent is refunded. Cancel closer than that and nothing is refunded.
A change of date is treated by window. Far enough ahead it costs nothing; inside the last weeks it carries a fee of IDR 500,000; very close to sailing it is treated as a cancellation. The table shows each window.

If we cancel, you are refunded 100 percent · Refunds are paid within 14 days.
If your Carnaby stays in port
If the booked Carnaby cannot sail for a reason beyond our control, we arrange a boat of the same class on the same date at no extra cost, or refund you in full within 14 days.
The replacement is a boat of the same class, not a promise of the same boat. The date, the length and the group band stay as quoted.
Weather, harbour orders and the route
Stops and their order can change with traffic, weather and tides; the captain decides on the day. The route can also change on orders from the harbour authority and for safety, as the vessel owner states. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.
Conduct that endangers the vessel, the crew or the national park ends the charter without a refund.
What the fare does not cover
Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. The national park drone usage fee is also extra.
Flights and airport tax, a hotel before or after, travel insurance, dive insurance for scuba divers, crew gratuities and alcohol are paid by you. A cake, decoration, flowers, a photographer or a musician are never included in the fare; they can be arranged on request and are quoted separately, in writing.
Children, insurance and prices
Children under 3 travel free with a parent or guardian. Travel insurance is recommended for every guest. KEXI's terms state that listed prices include 11 percent VAT; your written quote shows the final amount.
Anything not listed is confirmed before you pay. A change of boat after the quote is a new quote.
FAQ
Can I change the date of a celebration trip?
Yes, by window. A change far enough ahead costs nothing, a change inside the last weeks carries a fee of IDR 500,000, and a change very close to sailing is treated as a cancellation. Send the new date and we confirm.
Is travel insurance required?
It is recommended for every guest, not required by us. Dive insurance is mandatory for scuba divers. Neither is part of the fare.
