Pink Beach for a group of friends

Updated 26 October 2026

Pink Beach is a morning swim and snorkel stop where fragments of red coral tint the sand pale pink. It falls on day 2 of the Carnaby routes, and Carnaby 2's route lists it as Long Pink Beach. Reef sits close to shore, so most swimmers manage it.

A swim stop for friends of every level

The sand is pale pink, not bright pink, and the colour depends on the light and the tide. The tint comes from fragments of red coral mixed into the sand. Do not plan a photo that needs deep colour.

Reef sits close to the shore, with depths of 1 to 8 m and a mild current, so the stop suits swimmers of every level. A swim and snorkel here takes 45 to 90 minutes. Park entry is paid per person and is never in the fare: IDR 250,000 for foreign guests.

It is on day 2 of Carnaby 1's 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N, and on Carnaby 2's 3D2N as Long Pink Beach.

Snorkel, paddleboard or sit on the sand

Snorkelling gear is on both boats, and the group needs only a mask size per guest. Carnaby 2 also lists a paddleboard and a transparent canoe, which Carnaby 1 does not. Two Carnaby 2 photos show a paddle boarder on clear, shallow water.

Friends who do not want the water sit on the sand. A group of 14 or 21 spreads along the beach easily, so the stop works for a birthday group that wants half an hour of nothing to do.

A picnic or a lunch on the beach

Meals are on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are part of the fare on both boats, so the standard day does not include a beach lunch. A meal on the sand is arranged on request and quoted separately; ask for it in the first message with the headcount.

The nearest comparison is a seafood dinner or an island dinner, both services we arrange and quoted separately by place and headcount. The services page has the list.

Mornings, tide and the group photo

Mornings give calmer water and softer light, and Pink Beach is a morning stop on the published day 2. The group photo works on the sand, with the boat anchored behind, and the pale colour looks best in the early light.

The captain decides the order of the stops, including whether Pink Beach comes before or after the Komodo walk. The 3D2N page lists the day, the comparison page compares the two boats, and the charter page prices a group.

FAQ

How long do we stay at Pink Beach?

A swim and snorkel here is 45 to 90 minutes. The captain sets the time on the day around the tide, the next stop and the group, and the crew calls the group back to the boat when it is time.

Is the sand really pink?

Pale pink, not bright pink. Fragments of red coral tint the sand, and the colour changes with the light and the tide. A morning visit on day 2 gives the softest light for a group photo, and the water is mild enough for children to paddle.

Can non-swimmers enjoy Pink Beach?

Yes. Reef sits close to the shore in 1 to 8 m of water with a mild current, and life jackets are on board for the whole group. Non-swimmers can paddle the shallows or stay on the sand while the others snorkel.

Is snorkelling covered by the park ticket?

Snorkelling is covered by the park entry ticket, but the ticket itself is not in the fare: IDR 250,000 for foreign guests and IDR 50,000 for Indonesian guests on weekdays, per person. Snorkelling gear is on board on both Carnaby boats.
