Carnaby 2: a ten-cabin phinisi for up to 21 guests

Carnaby 2 is a 32 m phinisi with 10 air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, for up to 21 guests; four cabins have a balcony and a bathtub. The whole boat for 3D2N is IDR 118,000,000 (≈ USD 7,239) for 1 to 12 guests and IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) for 17 to 21.
Thirty-two metres, ten cabins
Carnaby 2 is 32 m long and 6.5 m wide, with a Mitsubishi 8DC11 engine and a cruising speed of 6 to 10 knots. It has 10 cabins, each air-conditioned with an en-suite bathroom and hot and cold shower. The safety list also names CCTV monitoring.
You can charter it whole from Labuan Bajo or book a seat on a listed open-trip date, and it's the only Carnaby boat that takes more than 14 guests.

Two Masters and two Suites, each with a balcony and a bathtub
The two Master cabins, Bira and Tanaberu, are on the upper deck. The two Suites, Takalar and Bantaeng, are on the main deck. All four have an ocean view, a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony with a bathtub.
In the photos the bathtub sits beside a window, with the anchorage in the frame. Some of those photos are staged with rose petals and glasses. That staging is decoration, not part of the fare: decoration can be arranged on request and is quoted separately.
In a group of friends, these four go to the guest of honour and the couples, and everyone else takes the cabins below.

Deluxe, four Superiors and the Family Cabin
The Deluxe cabin, Bulukumba, is on the upper deck, with a double bed and an ocean view. The four Superior cabins, Gowa, Maros, Sinjai and Bone, are on the lower deck, each with a double bed; they have no ocean view. The Family Cabin, Wajo, is also on the lower deck, with a double bed and a single bed for 2 to 3 guests.
Nine of the ten cabins are doubles, which is why Carnaby 2 works so well for couples and pairs of friends. A group of 16 uses eight of them and still has room to spare.

Carnaby 2 lists an outdoor dining area, an indoor lounge with TV and karaoke, a spacious sundeck with sun beds and bean bags, a jacuzzi on deck and BBQ equipment. The photos fill in the rest. A long dining table stands under a canopy, laid with white linen. The saloon has an L-shaped sofa. On deck there are sun loungers with parasols, a jacuzzi framed in teak, and an aft lounge with cushioned benches and a covered daybed.
Flowers and petals in some of those photos are staging. They show what can be arranged on request, quoted separately, not what the fare includes.

Indoor lounge

Wi-Fi on board, a paddleboard and a transparent canoe
The facility list for Carnaby 2 includes "Wi-Fi onboard (Starlink)". Speed and coverage at sea are not stated, so we make no promise on either. Phone signal between the islands is patchy on every network; don't plan the day around it.
A paddleboard and a transparent canoe are on board too, on Carnaby 2 only. In the photos a paddleboarder works the calm water beside a rocky islet. Snorkelling equipment and a speed boat for transfers and island stops complete the list.

Twenty-one guests: how the beds add up
Nine double cabins hold 18, and the Family Cabin adds 2 or 3. So the beds come to 20 or 21, against a published maximum of 21; how the last bed is assigned is confirmed in writing before you pay.
For 3D2N, 16 guests pay IDR 8,060,000 (≈ USD 494) each and 21 pay IDR 6,670,000 (≈ USD 409) each. Watch the jump at 17, where the 17 to 21 band begins. Fourteen guests or fewer: the case for Carnaby 1
Carnaby 2's lowest band covers 1 to 12 guests, so a small group pays what twelve would. For 14 guests or fewer, Carnaby 1 has the lower whole-boat rate, and its deck is smaller if you want everyone within earshot of the toast.

How many guests fit on Carnaby 2?
Up to 21 guests in 10 cabins. The rate list has three bands: 1 to 12, 13 to 16 and 17 to 21. Carnaby 1 takes up to 14, so a party of 15 or more books Carnaby 2.
Which cabins have a bathtub?
Four: the two Master cabins, Bira and Tanaberu, and the two Suites, Takalar and Bantaeng. Each has a private balcony with the bathtub, an ocean view and a double bed.
Is there Wi-Fi on Carnaby 2?
