Four guides for planning a celebration on a private boat
Updated 26 October 2026
Four guides for the organiser: a planning timeline for a birthday trip, what a private charter includes, what a group can bring on board, and what to wear and pack for a celebration. Each uses the 2026 rates and names the boat it is about.
Planning, inclusions, what to bring, what to wear
The first guide is a timeline. It starts twelve weeks before the sailing date and ends on the day itself, with the deposit and the balance placed where they fall. Read the birthday planning timeline if you have a date and no boat yet.
The second guide is the inventory. It lists what the rate covers, what you pay on top and what is quoted separately on request. Read the guide to what a private charter includes before you compare our figure with any other.
The third answers the question every organiser asks in the first week: the cake, drinks and music guide covers a cake, drinks, music and decoration. The fourth is the packing guide, written for a dressed-up sunset table and a 45-minute climb on the same day.
Plan a birthday trip on a private boat: a timeline from twelve weeks outPlan a birthday trip on a private boat in Labuan Bajo: a timeline from twelve weeks out, 50 percent deposit, balance 30 days before. Up to 21 guests.
What a private charter includes: the rate, the extras and the requestsWhat is included in a private boat charter in Labuan Bajo: boat, crew, meals and gear are in; park fees and the guide are not. 2D1N from IDR 63,000,000 (≈ USD 3,865).
Cake, drinks and music: can you bring a cake and a speaker on a boat in KomodoCan you bring a cake and a speaker on a boat in Komodo? Both Carnaby boats have a TV and karaoke; the rest is confirmed before you pay.
What to wear and pack: a celebration on a boat in KomodoWhat to wear on a boat trip in Komodo for a celebration: closed shoes for the climbs, swimwear, one dressed-up outfit. Towels are provided on both boats.
Start with the stage you are at
Before you ask for a quote, you need only a headcount and a rough month. The planning timeline tells you what to decide first, and the charter inclusions guide tells you what the figure will cover.
Before you pay, read the guide on cake, drinks and music. It names what the boats publish and what we confirm in writing, so no surprise arrives after the deposit.
Before you pack, read the guide on what to wear. It lists shoes, swimwear and the outfit for the toast, and it says what to carry for the Padar and Komodo walks.
The 2026 rates behind all four guides
Every figure in the guides is a 2026 rate. The 2026 rates apply to 31 December 2026; 2027 rates are on request, sent before you pay a deposit. A private charter is priced per boat by group size, not per person.
A headline number: Carnaby 1 for 7 to 10 guests is IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479) for 3D2N, and Carnaby 2 for 17 to 21 guests is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589). Park fees, flights and the guide on a private charter are never in those figures. The charter page lists every band.
FAQ
Which guide first?
Start with the planning timeline if you have a date and a headcount, and with the charter inclusions guide if you are comparing quotes. Both take under ten minutes to read, and each guide links to the next step, so you can move from the timeline to the inclusions without searching.
Are guide prices final?
The guides quote the 2026 rates, and your written quote is the final figure. A private charter is priced per boat, and extras such as a cake or decoration are quoted separately. Carnaby 1 for 11 to 14 guests is IDR 75,000,000 (≈ USD 4,601) for 3D2N.
Can I ask for a guide on another topic?
Yes. Send the topic on WhatsApp with your headcount and month, and if the answer is general we add it to the guides. Anything that depends on your boat or date is answered for that date, because a guide cannot promise it.
