Run of show: a birthday from boarding to the last toast
The cake comes up on deck at Kalong, where the bats leave about 15 minutes after sunset. The weather and the captain set the exact spot and the order of the stops on the day.

None of this comes with the fare. Cabin or deck decoration and a special dinner built around a birthday are services we arrange, quoted separately. A cake can be arranged on request and quoted separately; candles ride along with that request.

Keeping the surprise from the guest of honour
The organiser's note: the birthday guest needs the dates, a packing list and the meeting point in Labuan Bajo. The cake can stay secret. Run the plan in a chat they're not part of.
We brief the crew from your written plan before anyone boards, so nobody lets slip about a candle before you do. If the weather moves the toast from Kalong to the sundeck at anchor, the cake moves with it. Where the boat spends the night is the captain's decision that day.
Guests who arrive early can be picked up in Labuan Bajo; the time and the meeting point are confirmed with your booking.
A birthday for 12: what each friend pays
Twelve friends on Carnaby 1 for 3D2N pay IDR 75,000,000 (≈ USD 4,601) for the whole boat, which is IDR 6,250,000 (≈ USD 383) each. The 11 to 14 guest band covers up to 14, so another two friends cost nothing extra for the boat.
For 18 guests on Carnaby 2 the whole boat is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589), or IDR 7,780,000 (≈ USD 477) each. The 17 to 21 guest band covers up to 21.
A private charter is priced per boat by group size, not per person, and the figures are the 2026 rates. Who pays for what: the fare covers the boat, the crew, the harbour transfer, meals, coffee, tea and water, snacks, fruit, towels, life jackets and snorkelling gear. You pay the park fees, flights, hotel, insurance, crew gratuities and any alcohol. Cake, decoration, a photographer and the guide are on request and quoted separately.

Who sleeps where on a birthday trip
Give the Master Cabin to the birthday guest. On Carnaby 1 it is on the upper deck with a balcony, the only one on the boat. On Carnaby 2 the two Master cabins and the two Suites each have a balcony with a bathtub.
Up to 14 guests fit Carnaby 1, 15 to 21 need Carnaby 2. Send us the names in pairs and we come back with a cabin plan. Cabin by cabin: Carnaby 1 cabins and Carnaby 2 cabins.

Can I celebrate a birthday on a private boat in Komodo?
Yes. A private charter gives your group the whole boat, 14 guests on Carnaby 1 (15 with the extra bed) or 21 on Carnaby 2. The toast fits the day 1 sunset stop at Kalong, and the crew follows the plan you send. Cake and decoration are quoted separately.
Can we bring our own cake?
Neither boat sets a rule on bringing a cake, so we confirm it for your boat and date. A cake can also be arranged on request and quoted separately, which saves you carrying one through the airport.
How much for a birthday for 12 friends?
On Carnaby 1, 12 friends pay IDR 75,000,000 (≈ USD 4,601) for 3D2N, whole boat, or IDR 6,250,000 (≈ USD 383) each. On Carnaby 2 the same 12 pay the 1 to 12 band, IDR 118,000,000 (≈ USD 7,239). Park fees, the guide and any cake are extra.
Is a birthday on a boat good for kids and grandparents?
Children under 3 travel free with a parent or guardian. The Padar and Komodo walks are optional, so grandparents can stay on deck with the crew while the group climbs. Carnaby 2 has a Family Cabin for 2 to 3 guests.
Can the crew sing or play music?
Both boats have a TV and karaoke in the indoor lounge. Ask in your first message whether the crew joins in. A guest's own speaker is also confirmed for your boat and date.
How far ahead should I book for a date in July?
July is a high-crowd month, so ask as soon as the guest list is firm. A date is held once the 50 percent deposit is paid, and the balance is due 30 days before sailing.
