Where the moment works, and where it does not
A party of 1 to 6 pays the lowest band on Carnaby 1, IDR 63,000,000 (≈ USD 3,865) for the whole boat on a 2D1N. The weather and the captain decide the spot on the day, and nobody stages the proposal for you. Everything beyond the boat and the meals is requested and quoted separately.
Three places do work. The sundeck at anchor gives space for a few guests and a clear view. Kalong at dusk works from the boat, because the bats leave about 15 minutes after sunset and the stop is watched from the deck, not from the shore. The Master balcony on Carnaby 1, or a Master or Suite balcony on Carnaby 2, holds two people and no audience.
We'd steer you away from the Padar ridge. It is a 25 to 45 minute climb on a loose, steep path that other groups share, and July, August and December are the crowded months.
Run of show on a 2D1N proposal: day 1 midday is boarding, then Kelor and Manjarite in the afternoon. Dusk is Kalong and the moment, then dinner on deck. Day 2 is Padar in the morning, Pink Beach, Komodo and Taka Makassar before the harbour. The 2D1N page has the stop order.
Guests on board or just the two of you

Briefing the crew, hiding the plan
The organiser's note: tell us the plan and we'll brief the crew before boarding. The partner is told only the dates, what to pack and the meeting point in Labuan Bajo.
A boat is a small place, and a hidden party can't stay hidden for two days. Guests who are part of the reveal can board ahead of the couple. Ask for separate pickup times and we confirm what is possible; on board, the cabin plan decides who sleeps where.
If it rains, the moment moves to the indoor lounge, which both boats have, with a TV and karaoke. The crew follows your cue, and the captain decides whether the anchorage changes. Nothing is staged unless you request it.

On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. A photographer or a drone flight is a service we arrange, and a park permit is required for the drone. The national park drone usage fee is also extra.
The free option is a friend with a phone. Choose them in advance and show them where to stand at Kalong, because the light fades fast once the sun drops. The services page lists what can be added.
What a small proposal party costs
Carnaby 1 for 1 to 6 guests: IDR 63,000,000 (≈ USD 3,865) for 2D1N and IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294) for 3D2N, whole boat. Six guests pay IDR 10,500,000 (≈ USD 644) each on the 2D1N and IDR 11,670,000 (≈ USD 716) each on the 3D2N.
Rates are the 2026 rates, per boat, not per person. Who pays for what: the fare covers the boat, the crew, the harbour transfer, meals, coffee, tea, water, snacks, fruit, towels, life jackets and snorkelling gear. You pay the park fees, flights, hotel, insurance, gratuities and alcohol. Decoration, a cake, a photographer and the guide are on request, quoted separately.

Can I propose on a boat in Komodo and keep it a surprise?
Yes. Tell us the plan, and we brief the crew from your written instructions before boarding. Your partner needs only the dates, the packing list and the meeting point in Labuan Bajo. The exact spot is decided by the weather and the captain on the day.
Can the crew help with the setup?
The crew follows your written plan, but a setup is not part of either boat's standard offer. Decoration for a cabin or the deck, and a special dinner for a proposal, are services we arrange, and we quote each separately.
What if it rains?
Both boats have an indoor lounge with a TV and karaoke, so the moment can move inside. The captain decides the anchorage on the day, and Carnaby 2 also has an outdoor dining table under a canopy for lighter showers.
Can family be hidden on board?
Not for two days; a boat is small. Family can board ahead of the couple if you ask for separate pickup times, which we confirm, and the cabin plan keeps them out of sight until the reveal on the first evening.
Can a photographer be on the boat?
Yes, on request, quoted separately. A photographer or drone flight is a service we arrange, a park permit is required for the drone, and the national park drone usage fee is extra. Guide and documentation are not in a private fare.
