2 days, 1 night: a celebration weekend on a private boat
Updated 26 October 2026
A Komodo 2D1N weekend celebration on a private boat: the route published for Carnaby 1 runs Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on day 1, then Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo and Taka Makassar on day 2. Whole boat from IDR 63,000,000 (≈ USD 3,865) for 1 to 6 guests, or IDR 94,000,000 (≈ USD 5,767) on Carnaby 2 for 1 to 12.
Run of show: a short weekend with one toast
Here's the 2D1N route from Carnaby 1, set out as a run of show: one evening, one morning and a single toast.
- Day 1, morning to midday: pickup in Labuan Bajo, boarding and lunch on board.
- Day 1, afternoon: the Kelor hill walk and a swim, then snorkelling at Manjarite.
- Day 1, dusk: Kalong at sunset. About 15 minutes after the sun goes down the flying foxes leave, and that's your cue for the toast.
- Day 1, evening: dinner on board.
- Day 2, first stop: the Padar ridge walk.
- Day 2, the rest: Pink Beach for a swim and snorkel, the ranger walk on Komodo Island, the Taka Makassar sandbar, then back to Labuan Bajo.
Pickup in Labuan Bajo; the time and the meeting point are confirmed in writing with your booking. The return time on day 2 is confirmed too. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day. Stops and their order can change with traffic, weather and tides; the captain decides on the day.

What a short weekend leaves out
Two days suits a birthday well, but it has limits. Manta Point isn't on the published 2D1N, and nor are Sebayur and Kanawa; for those you need the 3D2N, which has its own page.
The last stop on the published route is Taka Makassar, and it depends on the tide: the sandbar shows only at low tide. Arrive at high water and the captain simply reshuffles the order; the day stays the same.
If your group wants every swim on the list, go a day longer. If the cake, the sunset and one good walk will do, two days is plenty.

The one set route on Carnaby 2 is a 3D2N, which you'll find on the 3D2N page. Ask us and we'll show you how much of it fits into two days.
Keeping a surprise through a short trip
The organiser's note: on a 2D1N you get one window for the surprise, and that's dusk on day 1. Your guests need the pickup point and the packing list, nothing more. Send us the one cue you want, for example the toast as the bats leave Kalong, and we pass it to the Carnaby crew.
Weather and the captain decide the anchorage that evening, so the cue is a time of day, not a spot on a map. Have the guest of honour board last and they'll find everyone already on deck.
