A farewell trip on a private boat

On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. The hikes are optional, and they are short but not gentle. Kelor takes 15 to 30 minutes and Padar 25 to 45, both steep and loose in places.

Run of show on Carnaby 1's 3D2N: day 1 opens with lunch on board, then the Kelor climb, a swim at Manjarite and Kalong at dusk. Day 2 is the long one, with Padar, Pink Beach, the Komodo ranger walk, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day 3 is a slow swim at Sebayur and Kanawa, then the harbour, with the return time confirmed in writing.

Kelor is on day 1 of both boats' published routes. It is the right first walk for a group that has not climbed together before: short enough to finish, steep enough that nobody mistakes it for a stroll.

At the top of Kelor, 15 to 30 minutes after leaving the beach, the group has the bay below and the boat at anchor. Someone reads a few lines, everyone raises a cup, and the photo is taken before the climb back down. Coffee, tea and mineral water are in the fare; alcohol is not.

Park rules apply on every island. Our advice for a send-off is to carry nothing you cannot bring back down in your bag, so no confetti, no balloons and no glass. The Moments on deck note on the journal page covers what the rules say for a party.

The stop order and the time at each viewpoint are the captain's call on the day, and a toast at the top depends on the weather and the crowd.

A graduation trip is a group of friends with a date set by the exam calendar. The headcount is the first question. A group of 8 to 14 fits Carnaby 1, and a bigger class fits Carnaby 2.

A move abroad is the send-off of a single friend, so the guest list is the friend's closest people. No guest has reviewed these boats yet, so the price and the route below are what we can state.

The simplest gift is a framed group photo from the sundeck, taken on day 2 after the Padar walk. A friend with a phone does the job; a photographer or a drone flight is a service we arrange, quoted separately, and a park permit is required for the drone.

A second gift is a playlist for the sundeck, with a karaoke night in the indoor lounge. Both boats have karaoke and a TV. The services page lists decoration and a special dinner, and the celebrations page shows the other celebrations.
