Carnaby 1: a six-cabin phinisi for up to 14 guests

Carnaby 1 is a 26 m phinisi with 6 air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, for up to 14 guests, or 15 with the extra bed in the Master Cabin. The whole boat for 3D2N is IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294) for 1 to 6 guests and IDR 75,000,000 (≈ USD 4,601) for 11 to 14.
Twenty-six metres, six cabins
Carnaby 1 is 26 m long and 5.5 m wide, with a Mitsubishi 6D22 engine and a cruising speed of 6 to 7 knots. It has 6 cabins, every one air-conditioned and with its own bathroom and hot shower. A speed boat serves as the tender for island stops.
You can charter it whole from Labuan Bajo or book a seat on a listed open-trip date. For 14 guests or fewer, it's the cheaper of the two Carnaby boats.

The Master Cabin and its balcony: the only one on board
The Master Cabin is on the upper deck. It has a double bed and an extra bed, an ocean view, a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom, and it takes 2 to 3 guests. It is the only cabin on Carnaby 1 with a balcony.
On a celebration trip it goes to the person the trip is for, or to the couple. The extra bed makes it the one cabin where a third guest fits. On an open trip the extra bed has its own fare, IDR 4,000,000 (≈ USD 245) per person.

Deluxe, Superior and the four-bed Sharing Cabin
The two Deluxe cabins are on the main deck, each with a double bed, an ocean view and an en-suite bathroom. The two Superior cabins are on the lower deck, each with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom and no ocean view.
Also on the lower deck, the Sharing Cabin has two double beds and holds 4 guests, with its own bathroom like the others. In a group of friends it suits four who don't mind sharing; on an open trip, you share it with other guests.
Dining table, lounge, sundeck and jacuzzi
Carnaby 1 lists an outdoor dining table, an indoor lounge with a TV and karaoke, a sundeck with spacious sun beds and bean bags, a jacuzzi and BBQ equipment. Snorkelling equipment comes in 15 sets, and free-flowing coffee, tea and mineral water, snacks and fruit are part of the fare.
With 14 friends, ask us how the table is laid and we send the seating plan before you pay. Take the group photo on the sundeck. If the weather keeps everyone inside, the playlist moves to the lounge.
Fourteen guests, fifteen with the extra bed
The beds add up like this: the Master 2, the two Deluxe cabins 4, the two Superiors 4, the Sharing Cabin 4. That is 14. The extra bed in the Master Cabin is the 15th.
Headcount fit: 10 guests pay IDR 7,300,000 (≈ USD 448) each for 3D2N, and 14 guests pay IDR 5,360,000 (≈ USD 329) each. Fourteen is the published maximum on the rate list. Who pays for what: park fees, flights, hotel, insurance and gratuities are yours; the guide and documentation on a private charter are quoted separately.
Fifteen guests or more: the case for Carnaby 2
Carnaby 1 runs out where its beds do. For 15 guests or more, Carnaby 2 is the boat: 10 cabins and up to 21 guests. It is also the boat for any guest who wants a balcony with a bathtub, because Carnaby 1 has one balcony and no bathtub.

Carnaby 1 lists 20 life jackets, 2 life rafts of 10 guests each, 4 life buoys and 6 fire extinguishers. For navigation and calls it lists GPS, an HF radio, a marine radio with a distress signal and 3 handy talkies.
That's 6 more life jackets than the 14 guests on the rate list.
