Open trips start on Monday and Friday. A date taken by a private charter is not listed.

Eight friends: seats or the whole Carnaby 1
Eight friends can fill the two Deluxe cabins and the two Superior cabins. At the published seat fares that is 4 × IDR 7,000,000 (≈ USD 429) plus 4 × IDR 6,250,000 (≈ USD 383). The whole of Carnaby 1 for eight guests is IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479). In total, the seats come to less than the boat.
That is arithmetic. The other guests on an open trip are strangers, you sail on a listed date and the guide and documentation come with the seat. On a private charter they are quoted separately. Neither option is called a saving.
Inside a Carnaby 1 seat fare
On an open trip the tour guide and the documentation are included. The fare also covers the boat and its crew, harbour transfer, meals, coffee, tea and water, snacks and fruit, towels, life jackets and snorkelling gear.
Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. Flights, a hotel before or after, insurance, crew gratuities and alcohol are paid by you. A cake or decoration can be arranged on request and is quoted separately. The full list is on what a private charter includes.
Three days on a Carnaby 1 open trip, in order
Day 1 takes in the Kelor hill walk, snorkelling at Manjarite and Kalong at sunset, when the flying foxes leave. Day 2 opens with the Padar ridge, then Pink Beach, the ranger walk on Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day 3 is a swim and snorkel before the return to Labuan Bajo.
The Carnaby 1 open-trip route opens day 2 with sunrise at the top of Padar. Pickup in Labuan Bajo; the time and the meeting point are confirmed in writing with your booking. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day. Stops and their order can change with traffic, weather and tides; the captain decides on the day.

Can I charter Carnaby 1 on a date that is not listed?
Yes. A private charter can start on any free date, confirmed. For 3D2N the whole boat is IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294) for 1 to 6 guests and IDR 75,000,000 (≈ USD 4,601) for 11 to 14.
Is a seat on Carnaby 1 shared with strangers?
Yes. An open trip puts several parties on the boat, and the Sharing Cabin is a four-bed room shared with other guests. A surprise party needs the whole boat.
What does the open-trip route include?
Carnaby 1 lists Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on day 1; Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point on day 2; and a swim and snorkel on day 3. The captain decides the order on the day.
Who meets us at pickup?
Pickup in Labuan Bajo from the airport, hotel or harbour is part of the booking. Your written confirmation names the meeting point and the time, and our team is your contact for it.
